Stambridge Mills planning application
The Council has received a planning application from ILD
(Stanbridge) Limited for the development of the Stambridge Mills
site. The site is at the end of Mill Lane, Rochford abutting part
of the northern bank of the River Roach.
The proposal includes the:
- Demolition of all existing buildings on the site
- Construction of 45 new houses (2 and 3 storey comprising 17 x
2-bedroom units, 23 x 3-bedroom units and 5 x 4-bedroom units
- Construction of 4 blocks of flats (3 and 4 storey including
undercroft) containing 51 flats comprising 17 x 1-bedroom units and
34 x 2-bedroom units
- Associated landscaping, car parking, cycle parking, and
servicing access
- Construction of improved flood defences comprising landscaped
bunds, sea wall & sheet pile wharf edge
- Diversion of existing bridleway.

The scale of the proposed development is such that the
application constitutes major development. Consequently the period
of consideration of this application is 13 weeks and the
