An appeal against the decision by Rochford District Council to
refuse outline planning permission for up to 330 residential
dwellings at the site known as “Christmas Tree Farm , Rectory Road
/ Main Road Hawkwell was heard at a public inquiry between the 27th
and 30th April 2010.
At this appeal a Planning Inspector heard evidence from the
Council, the appellant and third parties relating to the reasons
for the Council’s refusal of the application.
The Planning Inspector considered evidence heard during the
inquiry and prepared a report and recommendation which was then
forwarded to the Secretary of State for the final decision.
The Council have been informed that the appeal against this
application has been dismissed and planning permission refused for
the proposed development, in line with the Planning Inspectors
recommendation.
