Car Parks

Rochford District Council welcomes careful drivers to the District. Provision for parking your car includes over 1000 Off-Street car parking spaces together with free On-Street limited waiting bays in the town centres. There are also several bays marked for blue badge holders.  Operational times and tariffs for Off-Street car parks can be found via the Related Links section further down the page.

The Council operates a number of 'Pay and Display' Car Parks.  The charges apply from 7a.m. to 7p.m., Monday to Friday and 7a.m. to 1p.m. on Saturday, excluding Bank Holidays and Sundays.

Drivers are required to park in a marked bay, purchase a ticket or parking session using one of the payment options. The ticket should be displayed on the front windscreen of the vehicle to enable it to be checked by the Parking Attendants.  The machines will accept an overpayment if you do not have the exact coinage.  The vehicle must display a valid Road Fund Licence and be removed from the car park when the period for which payment has been made expires.  If the conditions shown on the information boards adjacent to the ticket machines are not observed, the driver of the vehicle concerned will be issued with a Penalty Notice.

Vehicles displaying a valid Blue Badge denoting use by a disabled person are permitted to use one of the number of bays that are specifically reserved for the use of Blue Badge Holders but, if these are full, any available bay may be used.

Please Note:  Blue Badge Holders are not exempt from the requirement to purchase and clearly display a valid ticket unless they hold vehicle excise licence exemption.

All motorists are required to park wholly within a marked bay.  Failure to do this will result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued.
