Arts and Leisure
Arts
Development at Rochford District Council enables opportunities for
local residents to get involved in high quality arts activities and
events, and supports local artists and arts organisations to engage
with the public.
We work with Virgin Active on a range of arts projects including
the annual Rayleigh Arts Festival each September. The Festival
takes place in The Mill Arts & Events Centre which is a
Council-owned building, managed by Virgin Active.
Rochford District Council Arts Development arranges
year-round arts activities during school holidays and organises the
Rochford Art Trail each October with Essex Adult Community Learning
and Open Arts.
We work with Rochford Extended Services to coordinate an annual
creative learning project for young people with Orchestras Live and
the Philharmonia Orchestra.
The Mill Arts & Events Centre offers facilities for all
types of arts events, concerts and exhibitions. If you are
interested in holding an arts event or would like to exhibit
artworks in the gallery, please contact 01268 778171 or visit their
website in related links below.
