Non - Recyclables
All properties within the district will have a kerbside
collection of non-recyclable materials. Non-recyclables should be
placed into your grey wheeled bin with the purple lid. All
materials placed in this bin will be disposed of at a landfill
site, so please ensure that you place all your allowed recyclable
materials into your recyclable bin and your allowed compostable
materials into your compostables bin.
Materials that cannot be placed into your compostables and
recyclables bins should be placed into your non-recyclable bin for
collection, these include:
- Black bin liners
- Bubble wrap
- Cat litter
- Cling film
- Crisp packets
- Chocolate wrappers/biscuit wrappers
- Broken glass (except jars and bottles)
- Light bulbs
- Nappies
- Polystyrene
- Pyrex
Please note, the following will not be accepted in the
non-recyclables bin:
- Turf/soil
- Bricks
- Rubble
- Timber
- Heavy glass
- DIY materials
- Hot ashes
- Building materials

Recycling Centre for Household Waste in Castle Road, Rayleigh. For

Your non-recyclable bin is collected together with your
compostables bin in the allocated recyclables week, please check
